I'm Tess Conrad, Yankee gone native in New Orleans. After dozens visits to research and write about NO's history I figured it'd be cheaper to just move, and in 2002 we did just that.

So now I own a NOLA-themed shop , and am part time at the Preservation Resource Center, which works to "preserve the historic neighborhoods that make New Orleans unique."
