Tennessee Williams Festival

This weekend was New Orleans’ annual Tennessee Williams Festival, in honor of the playwright who lived in the French Quarter and set “A Streetcar Named Desire” there- and there actually was such a thing, starting on Canal, running down Bourbon Street and into Bywater and the Marigny, including Desire Street.

Many consider the contest shouting contest in Jackson Square to be the highlight, where participants do their best Marlon Brando impression:
