Bourbon Street Neon

We were in the Quarter on Saturday night for the big Pirate Parade and spent some time on the Tropical Isle’s balcony.

This shot’s balance is off because of all the lighted signs, but that’s what I like about it.

What with it being Spring, the Hornet’s playoffs and PyrateCon, Bourbon Street was looking like the old days…even down to the drunken college idiots screaming down from the balcony.

I'm Tess Conrad, Yankee gone native in New Orleans. After dozens visits to research and write about NO's history I figured it'd be cheaper to just move, and in 2002 we did just that.

So now I own a NOLA-themed shop , and am part time at the Preservation Resource Center, which works to "preserve the historic neighborhoods that make New Orleans unique."
