Pelicans and a Mirage

Biloxi, where we sat out on the not exactly pristine beach and watched the not exactly crystal blue waters for some time.

We’re not sure that these issues were true of all beaches in the area; our little stretch was heavily populated with gulls and such, which no doubt added to the overall murky look of the water. We decided not to think about it too hard.

But it was 95 degrees with heat warnings, and no shade anywhere, so while I was watching the pelicans lounge on the ruins of an old pier, I thought I might have fried my brains and was now imagining this ghost ship floating through…
